On my way

We all need a safe place.

As I go by this road to a place unfamiliar. Leaving everything I know of behind. But, I feel like iā€™m escaping. I donā€™t want to look back. Only forward. I take this journey as a transformation. Putting myself out there for the world to lay down itā€™s path. Do I know where I am going. No, I donā€™t. But, do u want to turn back around and go back to the place where I am familiar with. The answer is no. I donā€™t like the familiar anymore. Itā€™s so real that it is slowly drowning my soul. I feel like a fountain that isnā€™t strong enough to bore out water from itā€™s core. The scientists have gone mad, our leaders have gone mad.
I sat at the bar, and I was on my fifth glass of rum when the tech team walked in. “Good to see you John,” they all echoed.
Felt like a life time ago, I used to be one these guys, the gurus, the ones with the innovative mind. My down fall was my curiosity. My superiors did not appreciate the fact I had my nose in their business. “You all look great,” I responded.

“Do you want another glass John?” The bartender asked, a nervous smile on her face.

As I staggered to the door, I heard one of the tech guys say “I heard from a reliable sourceā€¦” “You mean your girlfriend?” One of them caught him off. “Shut up Mike, let him speak,” another one responded with a giggle.
“As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, my source told me the joint government are planning to release a deadly virus, they say it will help reduce world population to half, isn’t that crazy?”

“It’s fucking crazy,” I said angrily, I moved slowly to their table. There was tension in the room, and everyone turned their attention towards us. “It’s nothing you all, drink, come on” I waved off the onlookers.”It’s 2030, and the government still thinks massive genocide is the answer to all the problems in the world,” I whispered. “Well they are wrong, and you are fools aiding the course of super villains.”

The rumors about the virus spread so fast it caused riots, rioters were arrested, the government made up stories about the virus, like they always do.

The people are tired and sick of being lied to. Things quickly escalated, from small riots to countries at war with each other. It’s a fucking apocalypse.
The government did not need a virus to wipe out half of the world population, they already got one, all they have to do is press the right button.
Humans are the virus, and we almost destroyed the earth 10 years ago, now we are at it again.

I have always wanted to live on a private beach, when this is all done and over, I will find me an unclaimed private beach, away from the mountains of bodies and bloody rivers.
Away from savages who call themselves humans. Somewhere peaceful I can call home.
