It took me three solid days(mon-wed) to finish the novel, i could have finished it in less than a day, but i wanted to enjoy the plot and learn a little about the language of the world, well i think i did.
“Anyone who interferes with the destiny of another thing, never will discover his own.”
I thought that was cool so i tried turning Lead into Gold, it went well, even if i almost burned down the house.
I tried also talking to the wind and the sun, but what did i get?,

The thing i liked best was i never got to know his name (the main character) through out the novel, but i searched and i got his name.

Plot:
The story followed the journey of an Andalusian shepherd boy named Sentiago. He had a recurring dream, so went to visit a gypsy, a fortune teller who tells him that there is a treasure in Egypt, some where near the pyramids.
He didn’t belive the gypsy but had a little change of heart when he meets an old king, Melchizedek (king of salem and a priest) who tells him to sell his sheeps and travel to Egypt, he made him see reasons why he should travel to egypt and fufill his destiny.
“when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achive it.”
He meets an Englishman and continue his travel with him, they travel through the sahara desert and during his journey, Santiago meets and falls in love with a beautiful Arabian woman named Fatima. Who also advised him to go after his destiny since she’s a desert woman, so she understands.
He then encounters a lone alchemist who also teaches him about personal legends. He also say that, people want to find only the treasure of their personal legend but not the personal legend itself, the alchemist escorts him to the middle of the desert, at a monastery where they departed.
“it is stated that treasure is more than gold.!!”
About the Author:
After researching, when he was in high school, Coelho concluded that a writer “always wears glasses and never combs his hair” and has a “duty and an obligation never to be understood by his own generation,” At 16, Coelho’s introversion and opposition to following a traditional path led to his parents committing him to a mental institution from which he escaped three times before being released at the age of 20. Coelho later remarked that “It wasn’t that they wanted to hurt me, but they didn’t know what to do… They did not do that to destroy me, they did that to save me.”
Coelho also worked as an actor, journalist, and theatre director before pursuing his writing career.
The Alchemist took off. Harper Collins, the biggest publishing House in the United States, decided to publish the book in 1994. Then, it became first a Brazilian bestseller, later a world-wide phenomenon. The Alchemist has gone on to sell more than 65 million copies, becoming one of the best-selling books in history. Coelho had a spiritual awakening, which he described autobiographically inThe Pilgrimage. In an interview, Coelho stated , “I was very happy in the things I was doing. I was doing something that gave me food and water – to use the metaphor in “The Alchemist”, I was working, I had a person whom I loved, I had money, but I was not fulfilling my dream. My dream was, and still is, to be a writer.” . While trying to overcome his procrastination of launching his writing career, Coelho said, “If I see a white feather today, that is a sign that God is giving me that I have to write a new book.” Coelho found a white feather in the window of a shop, and began writing that day.In total, Coelho has published 30 books. Three of them –In total, The Valkyries and Aleph– are autobiographical, while the majority of the rest are fictional, although rooted in his life experiences. Others, like Maktub and The Manual of the Warrior of Light.
